This general first aid course includes Level C cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). It teaches participants how to recognize an emergency situation and respond quickly when caring for an adult, child or infant.
The course also covers the main first aid techniques required to respond to a variety of emergency situations while waiting for emergency services to arrive.
This training may be suitable for individuals working with adult, child and/or infant clientele, as well as for certain foster families, intermediate resources or family-type resources, depending on the requirements applicable to their setting.
In this training, you will learn:
- CPR for adults, children and infants
- Safe use of an AED
- Airway obstruction management
- Recognition of emergency warning signs
- Response to medical emergencies and sudden illness
- First aid for injuries and trauma
- Scene assessment and contacting emergency services
- Essential first aid principles
