First aid adapted to early childhood (8h)

Train childcare staff to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies involving young children, including CPR, first aid, and managing choking or allergic reactions, in accordance with Quebec’s legal requirements.

Young children are particularly vulnerable to accidents. Whether it’s choking, a fall, or an allergic reaction, it is essential that childcare staff know how to respond quickly, calmly, and effectively.

In Quebec, the Act respecting early childhood centers and other childcare services (R.S.Q., c. C-8.2, s. 73) requires that all educational staff hold a valid first aid certificate. This is a legal requirement essential for ensuring the safety of children from their earliest years.

In this training, you will learn:

  • Choking, severe allergies, and anaphylactic reactions
  • Child-adapted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • First aid (fractures, seizures, eye injuries, etc.)
  • Principles of emergency intervention

Who is this training for ?

  • All staff in early childhood centers, daycares, and home childcare services
  • Childcare managers wishing to comply with the legal requirements of the Ministry of Families
  • Anyone in contact with young children in an educational setting
